Challengers Boxing Club stresses the art of boxing and not “fighting.” We train amateurs and pros along with martial arts athletes who want to improve on their “stand-up”. Mr. Babcock coordinates the program for Nampa/PAL (www.nampapal.org), along with his coaching staff, Louie Negal, Robert Jimenez, Tony Jimenez, Tony Correa, and Philip Mora.
Ages 8 on up, male or female, all are welcome.
- 1Practices:Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Karcher Mall.
- 2Dues:$20/month for 17 & younger, and $25 for 18 on up.Monies go toward equipment and club activities.We are not connected with Nampa High School other than the fact that Mr. Babcock teaches there and some students train with us.
- 3Competitions:Amateur boxing events are generally held on Saturdays most weekends during the school year.Challengers typically have up to 4 boxers matched for each show.
Nampa/PAL Challengers currently have 16 registered athletes that are looking for match-ups.
Our gym is a neutral place; we do not allow racial discrimination, gang behavior or anything else that could be threatening or demeaning. We have a low tolerance because we are there to box – nothing else. We train champions that box and people that have other agendas are not allowed.
Nampa/PAL Challengers is currently registered with USA Boxing and, along with all the coaching staff. We are all background checked and trained to be amateur boxing coaches. Mr. Babcock is the head coach/president of Nampa/PAL Challengers, and is a Level III national official and former Chief of Officials in Idaho.
