Art Club has been an active student organization at Nampa High since the early 1960’s. Any Nampa High student is welcome to join, whether or not they are taking an art class.
Student leaders are chosen who coordinate communication and run weekly meetings.
Our typical projects and activities include:
- learning about and making art
- taking field trips to visit commercial galleries and the Boise Art Museum
- helping out with elementary school activities, and
- participating in fun money-makers – such as this year’s project - our ART BUTTONS (currently for sale at the school)
One of our current projects is creating a mural on the side of the football field concession booth. Please look for our finished work this spring!
For several years the Art Club has organized a community fund raiser called Empty Bowls. This year’s event is scheduled for April 13th from 5:30 – 7:00 in the Nampa High Cafeteria. Ceramic bowls hand-made by the Art Club, other art students, and staff will be offered for sale and silent auction to the public. Our FCCLA student organization (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) will contribute a free, delicious home-made soup and salad meal. Donations for the meal will be gladly accepted. All proceeds will benefit the local Salvation Army Food Bank. This year we’ll try to meet or top the $1000 we earned last year!
Art Club is advised by the Art department staff:
